About Us
Flora Vina founders, Rob and Jenny are Natives of Sonoma County. Together we love a good project and we love a good Pinot Noir. When the opportunity to purchase a 2 acre property with a fixer upper in 2020 became a reality it was decided we would plant a small vineyard out back and sell the fruit to others. We thought it would be fun to make a small amount of wine for ourselves and our friends. We prepared the land with the best methods. We selected the best root stock and clones recommended for our area. Rob is no stranger to winegrowing. He first planted vineyards with his parents back in the late 1970's when he was a young boy. Back then it was a chore, today it is a relaxing day out of the office.
Nestled on a downward slope our grapes flourish on Eastside Road in Southern Healdsburg. With tree views along the Russian River and Sunsets cresting the majestic Redwood Mountains high above Westside Road our grapes bask up the sun on warm days and drink up the mist on cool foggy mornings.
Intentionally small lot, boutique Pinot Noir farmers, by chance winemakers. Planted in 2021 our little postage stamp sized vineyard first harvest was Friday August 23rd 2024. The plentiful fruit was picked on the coolest day of summer after weeks of hot spells the temperature was a mere 58 degrees at time of picking and the sky was overcast all day. A week earlier than thought we pulled our team together and picked 12 perfect bins. Weighing in over 6 tons, this vintage was double of what was projected.
